Guided and Self-guided Afterlife Connections

Guided Afterlife Connections and Self-guided Afterlife Connections each have unique features that suit people with different needs and life circumstances. As a result, they complement each other. This comparison of the two afterlife connections procedures presents the basic formats and the unique features of each afterlife connection procedure.

Guided Afterlife Connections

Guided Afterlife Connections are done by state-licensed psychotherapists, one-to-one in the psychotherapist's office. They cannot be done on the Internet, by phone, or independent of a state-licensed psychotherapist. Guided Afterlife Connections sometimes can lead to deeper psychotherapy, so that the afterlife connection itself becomes part of a more encompassing therapy procedure for the experiencer. The psychotherapists use bilateral stimulation to help the experiencer come into an open, receptive state in which the connection occurs naturally between the experiencer and loved one living on the next plane of life. The bilateral stimulation occurs through two media: audio, using headphones and recordings that vary the volume of sound coming to each ear, and visual, using eye movements. One four- or five-hour session is usually all that is necessary to have an afterlife connection and reduce or eliminate grief.

Self-guided Afterlife Connections

Self-guided Afterlife Connections focus on training, occur in stages that lead the experiencer into increasingly stronger connections, and take place in a number of sessions over a period of time. Participants go through the procedure on their own from any location by logging onto the website at http://selfguided.spiritualunderstanding.org. No psychotherapist is necessary to use the Self-guided Afterlife Connections procedure.

The Self-guided Afterlife Connection procedure is based in the understanding that messages from the Source, guides, helpers, and loved ones on the next plane of life come in subtle messages from the subconscious. Those on the other side are in charge of the messages, so the messages will unfold as they plan for them to. The experiencer must allow the messages to come according to unknown, unanticipated designs created by those on the next plane of life, without interference. The Self-guided Afterlife Connections procedure trains participants to allow natural, uninhibited unfoldment of mental impressions, imagery, sounds, touches, smells, emotions, and any other mental phenomena. It teaches them how to restrain the natural tendency to want to control the experience through effort and intentions. Attempts to control the experience disrupt the natural unfoldment.

During the training, the Self-guided Afterlife Connections procedure uses recorded meditation music overlaid with spoken guidance that helps participants learn what natural unfoldment is and how to allow it without interference. The recordings are available on the Web for participants to use when they decide to, free of charge. The only stipulation is that they must go through all of the stages of training in order. After they learn about natural unfoldment, the procedure takes them into a hypnotic trance during which they may have a connection. It proceeds in stages until the experiencer is able to allow the connection to occur with self-hypnosis and no meditation music or guidance.

Both Guided Afterlife Connections and Self-guided Afterlife Connections have features with unique benefits for participants. This paper describes the unique benefits of the two methods.

Unique Features of Guided Afterlife Connections

The most prominent unique features of Guided Afterlife Connections are that

  • A state-licensed, seasoned psychotherapist must administer the procedure.
  • They are highly successful.
  • They result in dramatic reduction or elimination of grief.
  • They may develop into deep psychotherapy with confidence any issues can be pursued to a resolution.

A state-licensed, seasoned psychotherapist must administer the procedure

Only experienced state-licensed psychotherapists are taught the Guided Afterlife Connections procedure and are permitted to use it.

They are highly successful

The Guided Afterlife Connections procedure has a remarkably high success rate: around 95% of the clients who go through the procedure have a connection. Anyone wanting to connect with their loved one has a high probability of success.

They result in dramatic reduction or elimination of grief

The study of the reduction in grief resulting from the Guided Afterlife Connection procedure found that, in one session, participants had an average reduction in their Subjective Units of Distress Scale (SUDS) ratings of disturbance memories cause them from 9.91 on the 10-point scale at the beginning of the session to 1.42 at the end. Grief is normally resistant to being resolved, with studies of grief therapy usually showing no reduction in grief even after repeated grief-therapy sessions. The reduction or elimination of grief resulting from the Guided Afterlife Connection procedure is unprecedented in grief therapy and psychotherapy in general.

They may develop into deep psychotherapy with confidence

The third important feature of the Guided Afterlife Connection procedure is that it often leads into deep psychotherapy. For that reason, the Guided Afterlife Connections procedure can be performed only by a seasoned, state-licensed psychotherapist. The loved ones on the next planes of life often actively participate in helping the experiencer heal traumatic stress issues the person in spirit was involved in. As such, this method of of psychotherapy is unique and revolutionary. The realizations experiencers come to during a Guided Afterlife Connection session are life-changing. They result in remarkable healing.

A paper describing the deep psychotherapy that often occurs during the Guided Afterlife Connection procedure is available.

Unique Features of Self-guided Afterlife Connections

The most prominent unique features of Self-guided Afterlife Connections are that

  • No psychotherapist, medium, or other facilitator is necessary.
  • They are also highly successful.
  • They are available to anyone in the world without cost.
  • The experiencers can initiate the experience as often as they want, for as long as they want.
  • The sessions usually take no more than 15 to 30 minutes.
  • It appears they help experiencers develop their sensitivities to afterlife communications and the metaphysical in general.

No psychotherapist, medium, or other facilitator is necessary.

The purpose of the Self-guided Afterlife Connections procedure is to teach people how to initiate and experience their own afterlife connections without relying on a psychotherapist, medium, or other facilitator. In the last stage, they take themselves into a hypnotic trance without meditation music or other aids, experience an afterlife connection, and take themselves out of the hypnotic trance.

They are also highly successful.

The Self-guided Afterlife Connections experiences have a high success rate: 86% in the study evaluating their effects on experiencers. Among those who have had both Guided Afterlife Connections experiences and Self-guided Afterlife Connections experiences, the same people who could not have a successful Guided Afterlife Connection experience also could not have a successful Self-guided Afterlife Connection experience. A summary of the results of the first study evaluating the Self-guided Afterlife Connection procedure is available for you to read:

They are available to anyone in the world without cost.

As with everything developed by the Center for Spiritual Understanding, the Self-guided Afterlife Connection procedure is available to anyone in the world without cost. It is a gift to humankind.

Experiencers can initiate the experience any time, for any duration

The goal of the Self-guided Afterlife Connection procedure is to help people connect at any time, anywhere. As a result, they sit quietly when they have time available and initiate a connection. One participant has now experienced over 60 connections. Participants are taught how to bring themselves into the hypnotic trance and how to end it, so they stay in the experience as long as they and their loved one want to continue it.

The sessions usually take no more than 15 to 30 minutes

Experiencers who have learned the Self-guided Afterlife Connection procedure take themselves into the hypnotic trance and have a connection immediately. Their connection is continuous, without the need for revitalization, so they go through their entire connection experience in as little as 15 minutes. Some continue it for more than 30 minutes, but most end within 30 minutes of beginning the self-induction.

Experiencers develop sensitivities to afterlife communications and the metaphysical

The journals show a gradual increase in abilities to communicate with those in the afterlife, both during the procedure and outside of it. Experiencers describe connections with their loved ones that become increasingly metaphysical. They are taken on tours of the afterlife. One experiencer describes the gradual sense of becoming one with her loved one, so there is no need for having an image, and they answer each other's statements before they are communicated.

Comment on the Two Connection Methods

As a result of the unique features of each afterlife connection method, the two complement each other. One is not better or more preferable than the other. Each provides unique opportunities that fit people's unique needs. Eventually, we may discover that participating in both results in dividends we aren't yet aware of.
